Though a Mancunian by birth and English by descent I have spent most of my adult life in the West of Scotland. For the past twenty years this has meant the village of Corrie on the Isle of Arran. I live now in Hebden Bridge in West Yorkshire.

For the past seven years I have been an organiser of the McLellan Poetry Competition held annually as part of the island’s Mclellan Arts Festival.

My poems have appeared in numerous anthologies and journals as well as in publications associated with arts events on Arran. In 2011 my first full collection, Time Lines, was published by Cinnamon Press and in 2016 a pamphlet, Nasturtium was published as part of the Isle of Arran’s Open Studios Project. My second full collection, A Sense of North, was published by Cinnamon Press in March 2019.
